Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi has joined Levante on loan for the rest of the season, a deal that was announced by the Spanish side on Twitter.
Rossi has been a bit-part player for Fiorentina this season with Nikola Kalinic, Borja Valero, Mati Fernández and Josip Ilicic all getting starts in the forward roles ahead of him in recent weeks.
The 28-year-old’s career has been blighted by injuries and he is only just recovering from a fourth knee operation and he has made the move to Spain in the hope of securing more regular football.
With Euro 2016 on the horizon, Rossi will be hoping to stay fit and score goals and if he does that, he still has an outside chance of making the Italy squad, although he hasn’t played for the national team since May 2014.
Levante are currently rock-bottom of La Liga, but are only three points behind 17th-placed Granada, and they’ll be hoping that the Italian’s goals can help them stay in the top flight.
