Barca have bid rejected for Lemos
Marca are reporting the Barcelona have had a bid rejected for highly rated Uruguayan centre back, Mauricio Lemos.
The 20 year old has impressed hugely for Las Palmas helping them to avoid relegation, while on loan from Rubin Kazan this season. He made eight starts and two substitute appearances for Los Amarillos, who finished in an impressive 11th-place playing some wonderful football along the way.
Las Palmas took up their option to buy the player for €2million, tying him to a long term contract until 2021 that included a buyout clause of €30million.
Barca have offered €4million up front, with add-ons and bonuses bringing the total figure up to a maximum of €12million to lure the Uruguay under-23 international to the Camp Nou. However, the Canary Islanders are reluctant to budge on the buyout clause. The player himself would be keen to speak to the La Liga champions but owes a debt of gratitude to Las Palmas, who gave him his big chance.
