Bayern reject monster bid for Alaba
Not resting on their laurels and fresh from winning their staggering 11th European Cup, Los Blancos have had a massive bid of €50million for Austrian international David Alaba rejected.
Real Madrid’s director general José Ángel Sánchez has already met with the players father to discuss a move, say AS, but the Bundesliga champions will not entertain bids of less than €80million.
The versatile 23-year-old had renewed his deal at Bayern last year which would see the player stay in Munich until 2021. The Bundesliga giants are obviously keen to retain the talented defenders’ services but Real Madrid will not be deterred by the initial rejection and are likely to come back with another bid.
The big question to arise from the substantial interest is, does it spell the end of Marcelo’s time at Real? Alaba has established himself as one of the best left backs in the world and would certainly make Zinedine Zidane’s defensive unit a lot more solid.
Alaba had been linked previously to a number of Premier League clubs as well as Madrid’s fierce rivals, Barcelona.
