Barcelona dealt another blow in chase for fourth forward
Barcelona have been dealt yet another blow in their pursuit of a fourth attacking option, with Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague taking to social media to say that Valencia forward Paco Alcacer is going nowhere.
Twitter: Valencia fans (and coaching staff) got what they wanted. Despite FCB interest and a pre agreement between clubs, Alcacer will stay at VFC (@GuillemBalague)
With Los Che in heavy debt and behind with financial fair play rules, Barcelona have targeted a number of their players this summer, signing Andre Gomes and closing in on a deal for goalkeeper Diego Alves, with Claudio Bravo set to join Manchester City.
Alcacer has been Valencia’s top goalscorer in each of the last three seasons after forcing his way into the starting XI, scoring a total of 43 goals in that time.
Should the deal for Alcacer fall through as is now expected, Barcelona will target both Ayoze Perez from Newcastle and Salomon Rondon from West Brom, say the Mirror.
