Barcelona hopeful of re-signing former defender
Barcelona have decided they will make a move for one of their former La Masia graduates in Hector Bellerin within the next month, according to SPORT.
Bellerin, who left Barcelona for Arsenal five years ago, broke into the Gunners first-team during the 2014-15 season and hasn’t looked back since, playing a total of 76 games and scoring three goals.
However, with Barcelona short in the right-back area after letting Dani Alves join Juventus, and very few players available in that position, Barcelona will make their move for the 21-year-old.
Currently, Barcelona have Sergi Roberto filling in at right-back, with Aleix Vidal restricted to two starts this season, mainly appearing on the bench. In Saturday’s win against Leganes, Luis Enrique went for the more unconventional option of playing Javier Mascherano at right-back.
Barcelona’s move for Bellerin will be made harder by the Gunners attempting to tie down Bellerin to a new deal, which SPORT claim would make a Bellerin to Barcelona deal nearly impossible.
