Real Madrid to go for Salah in response to Coutinho transfer
According to Di Marzio, Real Madrid are tipped to sign Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah after watching Barcelona splash a load of money to sign Philippe Coutinho.
Real Madrid look like they are already out of the La Liga title race and Los Blancos saw the Catalans smash their transfer record with the addition of Coutinho in the January window. Real Madrid are currently fourth in the table, 16 points behind the league leaders Barcelona.
Los Blancos look set to lose more ground in their title defence with Coutinho added to the lethal attack of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Real Madrid will be looking to respond with a big signing themselves, and they believe that in-form Salah is the man to save their season.
The Egyptian international has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 24 goals for club and country and Real Madrid are hoping to convince the 25-year-old to move to the Spanish capital. However, it looks unlikely that Salah would leave as Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t want to sell the star winger so soon after Coutinho’s departure.
The German manager is looking to strengthen his squad and is eyeing up potential targets. Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Monaco’s Thomas Lemar are being linked with a move to Liverpool.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that he would like to sign new players with his team currently struggling to live up to their expectations and a 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo last time out could speed up the process for the Madrid legend.
